About our New Home Page
WOW. How about that. SYIX has a new home page on a new site. About time eh? We hope you like it but if you don't then please let us know your reasons. Hey, we're on a roll and there is no time like the present to improve it - your input means everything to us. The new site still offers most of the things that the old site did and a number of new features. It's based on community and you're part of that community. You can log in with your SYIX.COM user name and password. If you don't know it then click here and ask, we'll send it to you at your SYIX.COM email. If you're not a member of SYIX then you can always register on the site and get a community account using this link. We'd like to have you. This site is based on our first amendment of course but also centered around our Freedom and Liberty, something so precious to us but often taken for granted these days. At the bottom of most pages you'll find quotes from our Founding Fathers. You'll see that what is true now in politics was true then and that they had the same concerns many of us have today. These will cycle through at 30 second intervals but you can alway go directly to them through the Internal Links under the Resources menu at the top.
At the home page you'll find new things left and right
On the left you'll find your login/logout module, any new messages your community members may have left you, a short list of coming local events from our event calendar, the things most read about on the site, a list of free internet tools and a views module show the activity numbers on the site. On the right hand side you'll find the Google search box, a poll that will change from time to time, the latest posts from the Forums, the latest news articles and the skins where you can change the look of the new page. We hope you like it and if you don't you can comment on it.
Here's a list of most of the new features and if you have any more that you would lke to see then let us know in the Forums or email joomadmin at syix.com. These can be found under the Resources menu or the My Stuff menu at the top, visible after you've logged into the system.

They will be moderated and approved by a moderator and if they're serious then they'll get posted on the calendar. You must be logged into the system to post an event.
The About Us menu gives some insight to our staff and an old news letter from before the dawn of time - old timers will remember much of it.
There's more and you can find most on the Site Map at the bottom of the Support menu and logged in members get to see nearly all parts of the system.
Bottom line is that we appreciate you and if it weren't for you we wouldn't be here. Thanks and looking forward to many more years together!
